We are excited to announce Dual profiles, which allow developers to customise two different app-detail pages for agency and sub-accounts.
This release packs two enhancements:
1. Dual profiles for agency & sub-accounts
Problem:
For apps of distribution-type Agency & Sub-account, developers need to communicate with two different personas: Agencies and Sub-accounts.
– Agencies are the customers who buy the app. Hence, developers must sell/communicate the app’s value to them, including reselling (and soon rebilling) opportunities.
– Sub-accounts are the app’s end users. Developers must educate them with instructions such as a getting started guide, troubleshooting steps, etc.
Solution:
– Developers can now choose to have two different app details pages – one for the agency and one for the sub-account.
– Agency users can preview the app profile for the sub-accounts. This transparency helps agencies build trust in the app, which drives installations.
2. Simplified Left-Navigation Menu in Marketplace – Developer Portal
Problem:
In Q3, with adding new modules to the app marketplace, we are onboarding new personas onto the developer portal – snapshot creators, web designers, etc. Many of the pages in the developer portal were irrelevant to these personas for selling their modules on the app marketplace.
Solution:
This enhancement is an MVP to simplifying the app-creation flow. We have reordered and reorganised the left-nav menu to help snapshot creators and web designers understand the developer portal and launch their apps quickly.
